About Us: The Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester is the first hospice residence in Central Massachusetts. We are a 10-bed facility designed from the ground up, specifically for hospice residency. Our clinical staff and volunteers provide medical, emotional, practical and spiritual care for the terminally ill individuals of all ages and care needs.

Culinary Aide, Position Overview: Responsible for all food preparation for Hospice Residence patients in accordance with state and federal regulations

This Position Reports to the Hospice Residence Manager

Functions & Responsibilities

=       Handles and prepares food in accordance with current standards of practice and within the guidelines of state and federal regulations.

=       Prepares patients’ meal trays per menu and/or patient requests utilizing optimal presentation skills.

=       Maintains the family coffee bar.

=       Maintains food temperatures in accordance with state and federal regulations.

=       Stores leftovers in accordance with state and federal regulations and procedures.

=       Cleans and sanitizes kitchen work areas after each meal preparation.

=       Notifies supervisor of equipment failure and other pertinent issues as they arise.

=       Prepares grocery list and does weekly grocery shopping; responsible for unpacking and storage of food.

=       Maintains ServSafe certification.

=       Performs other related duties of a similar nature and complexity as directed.


Skills and Knowledge:

=       High School Diploma or GED required

        =       ServSafe Certification
